4 6 ton jack stands are much cheaper than a lift. all my under car work has been on stands.

Progress with my Carbied LS1 build, manifold/cam/etc have all arrived. Motor is pulled right down now ready to go to machine shop for a clean up etc.. Thanks to our local casino being generous I have gone from just a simple freshen up to throwing in a 383 stroker kit. So far the combo is going to be

Edelbrock Vic jr manifold
Come 383 stroker kit
241 heads cleaned up
***** thumpr cam kit

I also have a 4150 nitrous express mainline kit in the shed I am tempted to throw onto it.
I am wondering though, carb wise how big should I be going? 800cfm?

Well close enough, made enough playing black jack to cover the cost of the kit :p

Just scaled the regal. 3240 lbs. with almost no fuel in it. The old girl needs a diet this winter.

that's still with the 7.5" in it too, ill pick up some weight with my new rear...and a full tank. That puts me around 3550 race weight, ugh

Nice Steve

Well...As I been busy bow hunting (yes, got another one )...I took some time today after work to get back on the car.
Converter is IN !
Now I have to put the trans back in along with everything else (header, crossmember, driveshaft, and a few lines/hoses)

OH, and add about 3-4 qts of trans fluid back in due to spill. don't ask.

Been there and done that with the trans spills. Last time it was the pan gasket was really stuck on and even though I left a few bolts in, when it cut loose, I got a bath. :/

I just noticed that this Hughes pan came with a filter, but no gasket. WTF? I checked the parts listing and it says gasket included. I guess it was not my lucky day at the packing plant eh?

on the trans fluid bath.....I used to wear a lawn leaf bag with just my arms sticking out holes I poked through....saved me more than a few times

As for the gasket...call and bitch, tell them to over-nite it ?

Just wondering how this stalls gonna feel....my 4500 may not have been flashing that high either ? Can't say 100%
Not really sure how to test one other than going WOT from about 20mph roll in high gear and trying to watch tach.
These guys that built my new one are pretty confident at where this going to stall at (4900-5200) with my specs they requested. I should know pretty quick once I get her down on all 4s.

$180.

Gotta spend a little more money having my front tires trued/shaved. I had a little high speed test stop last night and got some flat spots. It feels like I am riding a horse at a fast trot. LOL I hope they can save em'.

Might have to have my aligned again. The guy that did it split the difference between level and wheels up so there is no possibility of bump steer but it is wearing my tires out I think.

The pan is on. It is now the lowest ground clearance part under my chassis.

So, I whooped up on a Ferarri really bad today. It was pretty much a "puppy kick" type deal.

He cam around when I was rolling about 35 MPH. He went past me pretty good. I hit it when he was about 2 cars in front. I drove past him and continued to pull away up to about 95-100 when I let off.

I looked it up. It is the Ferrari California. Here is a picture I got a couple stop lights later:
