Default New Trans, converter, gears, tires.

Sorry to all those that have been wanting me to get the mustang back together. I have been side tracked with other projects and my other daily drivers having issues requiring repair and since the mustang is not my main form of transport, it has got the back burner to all that and helping friends with their vehicles.

That being said, the car is now in the garage. I'm searching for those small, tid bit parts, and the Trans will be going in.

The total of new parts from the old,

Old parts:

Tci reverse manual valve body
Revmax 4500 nitrous converter
3.73 gears
Stock ranger axle for 5 lug
Mickey Thompson 26x10 slicks

The new:

Fresh built 4L80
Circle D 4400 billet multi disc converter
4.30 gears
US alloy 5 lug axles
Hoosier 28x10.5 slicks

Also going to reinforce the rear axle to further prevent failure from bending/flexing. Will be adding lower control arm relocation brackets to bring in some kind of instant center as well.

So, soon enough, it should be back on the road and hitting the track.

I'll drop the drive shaft off to be cut tomorrow. The Trans is also getting a custom Trans controller that allows manual control. The old shifter was a B&M pro stick, now will have a hurst outlaw shifter.

Hoping I don't notice the 50 pound gain over the th400. And I will be looking for a larger nitrous system to move up from a 150 to a 225 shot.

Stay tuned fans.

As am I.

But, do I run it with the 3.73 before installing 4.30s? Or do I swap them in and see how it does with everything swapped? Hard not to want to throw the 4.30s in because I don't even have the 26x10s so it is t going to be the same as the shorter tires.

I always like to do one thing at a time, but I would definitely give the 4.30s a try. 4.30s should be great on motor, but it may be too much on the juice.

Only problem I see on the gas is needing limiters in the front soon. Lol

And damn, the transmission wouldn't fit till I beat the tunnel on on the sides and chopped off a protruding ear on the drive side of the Trans. But it went, so once again a successful 4L80 fitment.

4.30 will be too much for nitrous. Might work for 1/8th mile

No might, it will. It is a 1/8th mile car when it's not on the streets.

Trans is fully installed. New fuel pump is in, starter in, driver header is back in, and looks like 4" will be removed from the drive shaft tomorrow.

Need to install the carb, cut the DS, install shifter, Trans controller and see if the exhaust clears. Then it will be on the road till the the gear swap and install the axles while I'm at it.

Damn, was great to hear this ol girl fire up.

The damnedest luck, the rear needle and seat after several years, is finally too worn to hold back fuel I guess. Couldn't get it to stop. So, tomorrow I may get to test drive if all is well.

It did move under it's own power.

Don't forget to put the hood pins back in. I saw two hoods fly up this past weekend while racing.

That is really great to see. I am looking forward to see that bad boy make a pass. I bet that baddass converter more than makes up for weight of the OD.

Yea, hope this thing is ready to be abused Friday. Hope to drive the hell out of it by Friday to get some heat cycled through the new trams and converter.

I need to wire up the lock up switch for the converter, but it's not a must have. Cannot wait to see how it foot brakes. Seemed pretty loose messing around in the garage. That would be fantastic if it rips into the power band like I need it to.

And hood pins? I have never forgot a set. Not fixing to start if I can help it. Lol
