I have bought a pro systems carb before. In the future I will be purchasing from Quick Fuel. I think you get more for your money from quick fuel.

I talked to prosystems and the guy was arrogant as hell. Ended up with a quickfuel. Prosys has a great rep, but the guy i talked to just rubbed me wrong

I have a Prosystems 780 CFM on the Valiant. Street driving is good, throttle response is great. No problems at all. And Pats local to me here in west Michigan, so that helps. Eric L

Buddy of mine had a similar issue. Guy was a total tool and in the end the carb wasnt right. Sold the pro systems, bought a quick fuel took it out of the box and did not have to touch a thing.

I have quite a few close friends who had this same issue. No idea how the guy has such a good rep

I dont really expect a carb to be perfect out of the box. My q850r needs a smaller idle feed restrictor. My afr drops to 9.8-10.5 on tip in from a red light and the idle screws are way too sensitive. Had to up the jets on both sides too. Love the carb though.

As a side note, I heard Patrick James from Prosystems was involved in a pretty serious car accident....

I guess you could say I've had good and bad experiences with them. They did a 840cfm wet carb (950) for my 6.0

At first I had an issue with the secondaries sticking, which they took care of, but I did have to send it back. After that, I must say it was pretty much spot on out of the box. At least with my novice tuning I had to keep putting it back the way it came for best performance.

Fast forward to my 408. I called PS and them only to begin with. They spec'd a dominator for my combo. A few weeks later I notice one for sale on their facebook page. I called Patrick and he said it was one a customer sent in for upgrades and didn't take. We came to an agreement on price, he said he'd recalibrate for my engine and ship her out.

I was weeks from getting the 408 done, so I put it on the shelf. When I got ready to use it, the carb wouldn't idle below 1500 rpm no matter what. Called and tried everything they said and still nothing. Tried a friends QF dominator and it worked perfectly.

Called PS back, they said send it in which I did. Got it back and did same thing. Then I got the attitude and they said it ran fine on their test engine. I would need to get some .030" drills and call them when I had everything in hand. At this time I'd had enough and started calling some other builders. Not one other builder recommended a 4500 carb, all 4150.

I even gave PS the benefit of the doubt and asked if they'd give me credit for what I paid for the 4500, I'd send it back and pay the difference towards a 1000 cfm 4150. I was told that I had the "old" body style carb and no one wanted them any more so they wouldn't be able to resale it. 3 months before I was told it was perfect for me lol.

Anyways, I sold the PS and bought an out of the box Q1000 from Quick Fuel and it went 1.5 tenths faster than my old PS

I hate to hear about Patrick's wreck and hope he's ok. He was great to deal with when there wasn't a real big issue, but when there was, he was just an ***.

Quick Fuel is a great option for out of the box. If you want Custom, get your wallet out and call Dale Cubic, Robbie Devane etc. but their 4150's are $1400 +

Sorry for the long post lol

I have a CFM (Dale Cubic) carb now... would like to try a Book carb but dropping another $2500 is a hard bite.
