within about an inch. i was hoping for closer, but for my first time, i think that's pretty reasonable.

it took me 3 tries to get that number 3 primary right, but it is finally tacked together. can't wait till my buddy gets over here with his TIG to get it final welded. now the daunting task of getting the passenger's side to be visually similar, lol!

thanks man! the opposition from some of my "friends" on facebook has gotten to a comical level. totally polarizing going to the forward swept headers, lol. personally, i don't care what everyone thinks at this point. this setup is going to make working on the car so incredibly easy.

anyway, the water pump drive from g-spot sensors showed up yesterady

and here is where i sit on the headers. still need to do #2 and #4 primaries and i should be good.

Will changing spark plug be a pain? Why did you make forward facing headers? Just curious! Looking good

spark plugs can all be reached with an extension with headers installed, or really quickly with the headers pulled.

reasons to go forward instead of underneath include but are not limited to:
-better ground clearance
-easy transmission access
-gets sound out from under the car
-less dirty getting kicked up
-easier fab
-gets heat away from the starter
-etc, lol

Roger that! Definetly easier to get the Trans out with no exhaust in the way lol.

Just here to hate on the headers for no reason like everyone on FB!!

I think they look sweet! I'm still undecided about how I'm run my exhaust in whatever car I end up getting I want to drive it on the street so might just build an exhaust system that I can just slip on and off for the track or cutouts.....

That last picture with the "tuba loop" for cylinder #2 reminds me of the old Kenne Bell headers for the Buick Grand Nationals. It really looks good. I have to say though, looking at those headers makes me wonder when the twin turbos are going in.

they'd be terrible turbo headers. primary and collector sizing would never spool anything, lol.

Ugh, trans access on a third gen. Every other car I've had is simple.

Looking fantastic Matt, cannot wait to start fabbing my turbo setup.

i managed to finish tacking the headers tonight. i'm pretty happy overall. if i end up with a little extra time and i may redo that number 3 primary to match the number 4, which i feel like turned out amazing. the second header always goes better, eh?

i'm going to swap the boots/terminals out for 90* ones, but these ALMOST clear the oe wires without issue, lol!

and all done, both on the car

hoping next installment will include some stuff about the rearend/brakes
