Default 5.3 in a 71 monte carlo.

I want to put a carbed 5.3 in my monte carlo. I have found most of the parts i need except for the headers.

and im alittle confused on the wiring harness. with i have to have the stock harness along with the msd one?

If you have not had the chance to read the sticky, you should take the chance to look at all the info I put in there that covers basics and a little more.

The factory coil harness is the only think reused from the LS with the exception of the front cam sensor for the LS2/gen IV. That small extension harness is optional.

If I remember correctly, the 68-72 chevelle headers fit the monte carlo chassis. And, as Zone said, the stickeys are an invaluable source for basic swap info. Good luck, Eric L

thanks guys i have been reading threw the stickies and was unsure weather or not i still had to have the harness for the starter and what not.
