Default 5/6/15 TNT disappointment

New converter testing didn't go as well as I hoped. Car feels OK, but ET/MPH show different...
DA was 13XX' so that's not it.
New air filter an issue ?
Converter was built for a 150 hit (maybe an issue ?)
BR7 plugs ( 2 steps colder than what I had last outing)
Tried a few different timing curves (32*, 34*, 35*)
Pulling out hair

Have you added any weight to the vehicle? The mph is way down leading me to believe you lost hp somewhere. Not just a converter issue. The br7ef's are definitely colder and also not projected tip. In my experience with the dish piston, mild compression ratio and the larger chamber the 103's are the way to go or go back to what you had in it before? I'm not sure about 6-7 mph but its definitely time to retrace your steps. Take a temp gun to every cylinder checking for a one that might be cooler for some reason.

Have you made any carb jet changes? Have you checked the throttle linkage? Obviously something has made a pretty significant change.

My SBC buddy up the street isn't real happy at the moment....I went faster than his best and with a 2 barrel
Must have moved last time out and only gotten worse.

Seems the cable slid in the bracket (factory glued) which was the issue. I tried to fix...no bueno.
So after checking with my other 1st Gen Brothers, I got a Lokar cable set-up...WAY better than the "stock replacement" one from a 1st Gen parts store. I now have 7/8 throttle and just need to tweak it a fuzz

I only wish I wasn't so cheap the first time the cable took a dump
I wasn't sure if it would fit/work with the stock pedal....but after removing the big aluminum slug on the end (didn't know it came off ) it went in real easy... had my daughter put pedal to floor, eye-balled the adjustment, cut to length, and installed the carb side of it. I had her put it to the floor again, and it is approximately 7/8 full open....pretty happy, and it looks good too....

I have a TPS sensor. I just grab the linkage by hand and note the TPS % at WOT. then go inside and push the peddle to the floor and make sure the TPS % matches.

Get a CSR or similar throttle bracket.
I push the pedal down as hard as I can every pass.
Also WOT throttle check before the car gets fired up every track date.

good you found the issue Doug,
!
I also noticed that you short shifted 2nd big time, looks like ~6400 from what I can tell on the vid, and 3rd was right at about 69-7000 when you moved the shifter - the motor flashed up a tiny bit on the shift, but that doesnt count in my books.
rev that bitch

That was the 2nd pass.... nerves were shot, But I agree Barrett.

7K passes next time....maybe higher to see if she likes.

I also think the front shocks are getting adjusted to 70/30 from the 90/10 they're on now.

Can't tell you how many times I've seen that before. And I've personally had to go back and re adj mine atleast 4 times. Flimsy *** brackets and cable ****.

I was by myself and had the jitters (first outing) I know better, and was the second thing I looked at the next day. Even IF I found it at the track, I was done....no parts, and forgot my tools
I'm going to have to mark it somehow so I can check by myself.
