I did some searching real quick and I believe that 5.3 is 2004 or newer.
After you install this engine in the vehicle, will it be a street driven car to take to car shows or a car raced at the track? You have a few different choices depending on what you will do.
You posted a pic of the crank trigger connector, and it looks grey. So as far as I know gray = 58 tooth crank trigger. However, the below article states that their 2004 5.3 has a 24 tooth crank trigger. Maybe yours is a 2005 or newer so it may be different. You need to verify exactly which one you have.

If you are going to just drive the car on the street, go to car shows, and never race it at the track, then you can buy a MSD ignition box. They sell two different boxes. Part #6010 is for LS engines with 24 tooth crack triggers and part #6012 which is for 58 tooth crack trigger.
If you plan on racing the car, I would buy the Daytona Smart Spark ignotion controller instead of the MSD box.

You will need an intake to bolt the carburetor on. Edelbrock has some great choices. Either #71187 for the street or #29087 for race.
The heads on your engine cast #799 are very good factory heads. I have them on my 6.0, stock, with nothing done to them and I've run low 11's.
