Default Recommended compression for 91 octane LS1?

Putting together an LS1 and need to add new pistons. Looking for a suggestion on what to put in it. It'll need to be able to run 91 octane gas in 100 degree heat.
243 ported heads, not milled. Cam Motion Hot Street cam--Duration @ .050 - 227/239
111 Lobe Center Angle
Lift: .595"/.587" (1.7 Rocker Ratio), single plane manifold.
Hooked to a 700r4, 3000 stall, 3:73 gear in a 68 Nova.
Any recommendations appreciated!

Anybody?
I know what you can get away with when using a computor, but am unsure on a carb application.

10.5:1 here and OK....just need to keep and ear on and the timing in check.

I was good to 34-35ish* on 91 at the strip....38* showed specs.

You could go more comp, but you'll have to kill the power (timing) and have a loose converter, keeping the loads low.

Good to know. I had been thinking 10.25 max, but would love to be able to swing 10.5.
What size chambers do you have...milled heads?

I would stick to low to mid 10's and low to mid 9's if you think you might boost it later.

Been running a stock LS2 crate motor with single plane/750 DP/243 heads for years now. Motor came stock with 10.9:1 compression. Never had an issue with pump gas, although I think we have 93 octane out here on the east coast.

Aluminum heads allow a bit more compression.

With that cam, I would aim for 10.5-11.0. I would not go over 11:1.

I can't imagine 11:1 on 91 octane, but that's why I'm asking. I'm not familiar enough with these engines.
I've decided to do a nitrous puck setup on the car for an occasional spray. I planned on calling Cam Motion to see if they had a different recommendation unless you have a better suggestion.

If this is the cam: http://store.cammotion.com/hot-stree...reted-camshaft , that is a good choice for a 3000 stall. If you went bigger on the stall, you could go bigger on the cam and maybe a bit more compression.

I don't think I'd want over 3500....this will be a regularly driven street car.
For the nitrous system, I'm considering a small fuel cell in the trunk to run race gas just for the NOS system.
