Default Carb'd 5.3 cam selection

I an putting a carb'd 5.3 in my 1985 Mustang. The 5.3l is a L59 out of a 2005 Flex Fuel Suburban. Right now it is all stock. Here is a list of what I have:
MSD 6010
Holley Single-Plane 300-132
AED 750 Double-Pumper
2010 Camaro Exhaust Manifolds
I have a set of Stock 799 heads that I can have milled to 61cc to match the 706 heads that are currently on the engine or I can just run the 706 heads.
I plan to run an NX plate system with 150 shot.
Rearend is a Ford 9 inch with 3.90 gears and a spool.
Transmission is a TH400 with a 3800-4100 stall and transbrake valve body.

What cam should I run? I would be awesome to find a drop in cam that will not require all new springs, keepers, seats, etc...

I would call Martin Smallwood about a cam. The cam will determine if the springs will need to be changed but if you are wanting to run any decent sized cam it would be a good idea to change springs.

There are cams out there that will work with factory springs and push rods. I do normally though like to recommend at least swapping the factory springs for a new set of factory springs which will also require new one piece seals/locators.

I have done a lot of cam packages that use LS6 springs and run well.

I'm in the same boat, I'm getting ready to buy a cam for my L33/4 speed car but I don't want to go through the hassle of a cam swap with out netting results that are worth it IMO. If the springs don't need changed Ina cam swap you didn't go big enough ...

After looking around and reading on cam selection for ls engines, it looks as though I will be upgrading to the BTR .650 lift spring kit. Im currently looking at getting a TreX cam, Vindicator, or MS3/4 cam as those seem to do the best with NA/Nitrous setups. Thanks to those that have responded.
