Nice progress...but you need to rev that thing. 6k isn't even tickling that motors peak power. Jmo

Wow you shaved .6 off your ET so that really woke it up! What was your trap speed?

That should be able to outrun your old 383.

give it some RPM if your valvetrain will handle it. there is some left on the table with rpm alone.

Way more left in it. Crank the engine to shift at 6800, let it eat and get back to us. You will be surprised.

I have spun so many to 7200 it isn't even funny. All with stock bolts in the rods. Set the rev limiter to 7000 and shift at 6800. Just be ready, you gonna have a sore face from all that grinning getting to feel the rest of the horse power you have been missing.

I spun my last stock bottom motor to 7,500 a few times by mistake no problem. I typically shift all motors between 6,800-7,200 RPM depending on the top end.

With that cam, it will run better shifting at 6500 or so.

hell, i've shifted a stock cammed 5.3 to 6500 before and i'm still the only one i know of to put a stock cammed 5.3 into the 13's with a full size extended cab silverado. 13.88 like 10 years ago...even before they started sticking 243 heads on a 5.3
