1986 Iroc LQ4 New Project
Figure I'd share my new project car. Came across a hell of a deal on craigslist few weeks back and jumped on it quick. Car is a 86 Iroc 86,000 miles got it for $2500. Here is a quick run down of the car.
86 Iroc
Iron headed LQ4
Edelbrock Performer Rpm Intake
Holly 600 CFM Carb
Msd 6LS
Factory Exhaust Manifolds
True Duals With Magnapack Mufflers-No Crossover
Stock 700R With Stock Converter
3.23 Gears Open Diff
Suspension is 100% bone Stock
Jegs Brand 5 stars
165/80/15 up front
275/60/15 Nitto 555r out back
Paint was pretty bad so that was the first thing to get done, have a buddy who owns a body shop so he did a quick cheap spray job for me. The car ran horrible when i got it, ended up finding out the guy who did the swap used regular Sbc intake gaskets on it, so there was a massive vacuum leak. Pulled the intake off and put in gm rubber gaskets and that fixed most of the issues. Car still had a slight stumble so i decided to take the preset chip out of the MSD box and make my own curve. After doing that the car runs amazing. I will upload the graph when i get home later on. Interior on the car is almost mint other than the headliner is a little saggy, no rips on the seats and no cracks on the dash.
Overall i wanna make this a nice cruiser nothing to wild. Here is what i am planning on doing over the winter.
Longtubes
Built 700R
Fti 3600 stall
3.73 Gears with a Torsen Posi
Tq Arm
Lowering Springs for the Front

Those aren't SBC intake gaskets. Those are probably Fel-pro LS1 13123 gaskets. Made for the LS engine. Made for intakes that don't have the groove for the stock "Oring" style.
Don't know why they look so ragged on there. Intake mismatch ?
