Default stock harness and PCM, what needs to stay

Doing a carb with a MSD 6010 LM7 with a TH400 in a 98 camaro and I was wondering what connections absolutely need to stay on the stock harness and PCM in order to run the dash, interior, lights, ignition switch, charging system... and what is not necessary. Sorry for the somewhat dumb question.

None of it. The engine harness and interior harnesses are completely separate.
The only link is the gauges. There are ways to make them work without the stock ECU.

The ignition switch and the charging system don't run through the PCM? There is no connection from the BCM to the PCM? What about the fans....... The reason why I ask is I am not particularly wanting to be doing a bunch of wiring.

Fans are PCM controlled. Get a $20 temperature control switch and put it in the passenger side head or in the driver's side head where the ECT sensor is. It will controls fans based on coolant temps.

Charging system passes through gauge cluster. Find the L terminal on the connector to the alternator and give it 12v ignition with a 470 ohm resistor, it will charge at 14.5v.

Thanks, wasn't really worried about the fans, I could wire them on a switch. My main concern really was the ignition switch and the charging system since its pretty much a track car. I have a tach, water temp gage, and oil pressure gage, so the stock cluster gages really aren't that big a deal.

Just find a switched power wire and connect it to a relay to power the ignition box (MSD or Daytona Systems). Either box has a tac output that will feed your tac. For water and oil you will need to take the sensors off your old motor and adapt them to the new one. Usually pretty easy to do, just a matter of finding a spot and connecting some adapters.

the charging system is triggered by the PCM you can supply 12v to one wire B position I believe as I just had to do it running a stock alt on fox body swap, ac delco actually makes the connector with just the one wire that I used

You need to use a resistor inline.
Giving 12v to Pin B without a resistor will cause the alternator to charge at 13.6-13.8v at 100% duty cycle, which will greatly shorten the life of the alternator, and this doesn't work on every alternator.

Yup, I ended up getting the connector from painless.
