Ls Swap Volvo, MSD 6014 help
Recently decided that I was going to pull the trigger on my first money pit, and dumped a carbed ls into a 92' volvo 740 wagon. Finally got everything in the damn thing and even got it to start, but it ran rough before dying and I can't get it to start up again.
Motor is from an 04' silverado, 5.3l, has an MSD 6014 ignition system. Running a th350 trans. I have the volvo ECT wires spilced into the ECT wires from the box, other than that everything is connected normally.
When it started up it wasn't misfiring, just sputtering like it wasn't getting enough fuel. I played with the gas pedal a little before letting off to see if it would settle into an idle, but it died. Now when I turn the key the starter spins and the crank is turning (fan starts moving), but I don't think I'm getting any spark. The thing just won't start up again.
I've done some searching online and learned this could be the cam/crank sensor, so I'm going to check my connections there today. One guy on the holley forums even said reversing the brown/white and red wires in the cam sensor connector made his work, but I'm not sure I want to dive in to dicing up my harness like that. I'm also unclear on if the grey tach wire needs to be connected to anything for the box to spark. It wasn't connected the one time I did get this thing to start.
Any and all help and advice is appreciated. I'm very new to this and have been learning as I go.

From what I have read and seen, so do they. I know that MSD will usually replace them for free too. Not sure about the others. Quite a few features on the 6014 that you don't get with the DS box. You have to buy everything separate. Hell, I can buy a spare box and swap it out in a couple minutes for what those cost.

I have the coil plugs grounded to the metal bracket on the cylinder heads, battery negative grounded to the frame and block. Does the box itself need to be bolted down to ground it? Right now I just have the black wire from the box grounded to the frame.
I also booted up MSDview and I had an ect sensor fault. Unhooked the sensor from the volvo harness and the fault disappeared. No other faults, so I don't think I have the cam/crank sensor issue that seems to be common.

You need a dedicated ground from the battery to one head. That is where the main ground to the box needs to be along with the ground for the harness on that side and another ground going to the other head and that's were that bank gets grounded. The main power wire should be hooked straight to the battery. You can hook the switched portion to the cars wiring.
