your swap cost....
What was your swap cost range ?
You can add motor cost into that figure too.
I know some have way more into motor build alone, but just an idea.

Some think going LS is too costly....my swap was around $1500 I guess, then add the motor rebuild, and LS3 heads using .660 springs, aftermarket cam....yes, around 6 or 7....never really added it up.
Gonna have to do that sometime.
Maybe I should have said not including motor ?

2004 LQ4 minus computer, harness, manifold, and injectors $600
Edelbrock RPM intake $300
MSD ignition $350
Pacesetter Headers $300
Meziere electric waterpump $400
Already had 750 Demon Carb
$1900 for all the main components, probably another hundred or so for odd and end pieces, but well under $2,500.
I bought my 6.0 about 5 yrs ago though. And I lucked out because the guy wanted to keep all the stuff that I didnt need!

Are you asking for total cost including car and everything it took to get it where it is currently or just the cost of just the engine and components to put it in my car and run?

I was including motor and everything to turn-key running.
Now second guessing and thinking I should have said to get motor in car running and another for motor costs ?

which time? lol. i've made one run, drive, and be reliable in an 89 iroc with a 5.3 for about $1500. lots of wheeling and dealing, craigslist, message board, and ebay (this was done before facebook had become such a great market place). i do not want to talk about what i have in the white car. it was always budget oriented, and is still considered "low budget" for the direction we're headed. it's just not a direction may people choose to pursue.

8k in entire car, rear, trans, engine, carb, converter, paint, everything. BUT, I have done it all myself. And it helps when my first ly6 was only 400 bucks, my L92 was free. Now I am with the iron block "6.0" and the only thing I bought new was oil pan and head bolts. re used all the bearings and copper coated head gaskets. Best of 6.13 with 93 extra lbs on the nose.

$1700 for a fuel injected 5.3 with new head gaskets, lifters, cam, long tubes, mounts, oil pan, throttle cable, lines, fittings, fuel pump, filter/regulator, HPTuners credits, with working power steering.
Doing my own harness and having HPTuners makes it cheaper than a carbed swap. Intake manifold with rails/injectors/TB/sensors comes with the engine, as does harness/PCM. Push-lock hose with fittings, Walbro 255, vette regulator is $250. HPT Credits are $100, parts to rework harness with loom, etc is $50.
Can't find a full carb setup with ignition box cheaper than the $400 it costs me to convert an old school car to fuel injection.

Everything complete. $50,000 easy, probably more like 55. Everything was bought brand new except the body. We sand blasted and painted it ourselves. And built everything ourselves. Would have been way more if we didn't. Took 3 years, but we were very patient. Started out as a junk yard build. Lol. Crazy how fast stuff adds up. But it was well worth it. Damn thing will pull the front tires about an inch, off the brake, on a slightly worn chip and sealed road, with no burn out, or any traction compound, on 10" tires. Very pleased to say the least.
