Default Sticking Carb Gasket Fix !

Hey guys I have been trying a few different things to stop ripping carb gaskets.
What do you use to make them last longer?

Moroso Buna N gaskets are vastly superior to even the blue gaskets.

Cooking spray helps as well. Especially on the paper ones.

I've used Vaseline on carb gaskets and the carb to intake plate gaskets. It also helps the plate gasket to get a better seal against vacuum leaks.

I use gaskets made from MP-15 material. On the same set last 6 years. Q16 even, doesn't care. I bought a set for a racing buddy on M1, so far, so good.

Maybe use a carb you can adjust without pulling off every run. Why the hell are you people routinely pulling carbs to the point of ruining gaskets? Seriously, I have been alive long enough to deal with every kind of carb and FI, and the gaskets were the least of my concerns.

I remember you could do ANYTHING on a Holley while mounted. Jet changes especially.
Maybe guys are changing out whole carbs for a different setup..

On my old combo SBC with a HEI, rear bowl was always a pain at the track doing jet swaps. LOTS more room now without the HEI.

But not looking for every .001 any more.
I may swap jets once in a while, but now I just plug in the laptop, make a timing change or three IF I fell the need.

Yeah I can see where HEI would get in the way of that back bowl. Enough to make you switch to a Carter... NOT!! lol
