Carburetor problem
The season here is finished, or very close to be. After 1 summer whit a carburated LSx, i can tell that i'm very happy whit this new set-up in my 69 camaro. L92 6.0L, Msd 6012, GM intake, good comp cam, Map sensor and all other stuff run very well..
But, I have 1 problem, my carburetor did not work good.. --- I have started a new post for this problem.
Thanks.

I have the Edelbrock control and I can custom program it. If you look, you will find that MSD makes the CU for Edelbrock.

LS1 Dist & Carb Swap
After reading this post it wasn't clear if anyone had actually swapped their LS1 to a carb and distributor. This was seen on HP TV a couple of years ago. I'm only looking for responses from those who have done the actual FULL swap that includes changing over to a distributor.
I see that many have left the coil packs on and install an MSD box, but I'm not interested in the coil packs whatsoever.
I hate the look of a cluttered engine bay with wiring harnesses, pulleys etc...

Doubt you'll find too many who have. Hard to give up programmable timing and electronic reliablity while having to completely retrofit a special distributor onto it. If a clean look is what you are after consider routing the unit and the coils through behind the firewall too. Can't think of a cleaner look than having 8 wires appear from nowhere and discretely attach to the plugs. They also make fake valve covers that cover the coils. Pricey though.
What am I missing here?
Edelbrock 7118 kit is $670.
Manifold is only 266 by itself.
MSD 6010 is programmable and is 319 by itself.
Edelbrock unit (made by MSD) is not programmable, just rpm modules?
Save $86 and get programmability by buying separately?
The photo showed a large style GM MAP sensor, does that come in the kit? Still not worth $86 to me.

I have a stroker v-6 that was set up for off road. I had the carb shop in ontario, ca do a carb set up. That thing idols so nice & runs smoother that my injected 5.3 lsx I have in my sandrail now! My dad told me, "If you ever have an injection problem with the v-8, you know what to do."

LS with a distributor
Bparrish, thats a sweet looking motor you have built, i love the detail.
I have gone a different route than everyone else, i am using the Electromotive XDI system with a 2006+ 58 tooth wheel installed into the LS1. I will use the sensor for the Electromotive installed into the factory hole with an adaptor, hence the engine running stand.
I got the efi version of the manifold if i want to use the Electromotive TEC system in the future in another car

Would a 6.0 with a good cam and some bigger valves in the heads run good with the edelbrock intake and holley 750? I like the msd setup since I discovered it but I am wondering will it be worth selling my spare 350 4 bolt and parts to go with a junker 6.0 block with a cam. I like the fact aftermarket heads aren't really a big deal with the ls platform but before I go and drop a good chunk into a carb intake and msd box I would like some track proven results. Also how exactly does the 2 step launch work? I have a 3500 stall and never used line lock or trans break or 2 step.
