SS horsepower

Yes i have a 2002 SS camaro with the slp package and was curious what kind of horsepower it put to the ground and with a hypertech programmer you plug into the dlc how much more can it gain

blk/slvr02ss 11-17-2008 04:59 PM

Does it have CME or the Dual/Dual exhaust ?My 02 SS A4 put 302 RWHP stock and 308 RWHP W/a hypertech tune.

V8Z28s 11-17-2008 05:02 PM

it has slp exhaust and i thought the ss had a range of 345 horse power to the wheels

blk/slvr02ss 11-17-2008 05:07 PM

No, the standard SS has 325hp & the Center Mount Exhaust SS has 345hp @ the motor. My first 02 SS A4 made 302 rwhp which is 361 hp @ the crank so you can see how they were underated.

nice bikes i love the maroonish one how much is insurance on those?

blk/slvr02ss 11-17-2008 05:19 PM

I Don't know. You don't need insurance in Florida. The yellow one was a GSXR1000 which i got rearended @ red light and total the bike & broke both my knee caps & i have'nt been able to walk for the last 3 months.

I do not see any bikes. Am I blind?
Both knee caps, that is bad. When are you going to be able to walk again?

Good luck.
Bill

That's why I don't own a motorcycle. Sorry to hear that, good luck with your recovery.

Any LS1 puts around 300 horsepower to the wheels, even if its an SS or WS6.

tigertank 11-21-2008 08:50 AM

damn dude after 20 years as LEO ive seen that happen to several guys hope u have a full recovery its going to be tough

blk/slvr02ss 11-21-2008 09:19 AM

Thanks guys i appreciate the concern its coming along slow but i just glad to still be here.

tigertank 11-21-2008 01:55 PM

back to OP is a hand held tuner really worth it on a M6 i heard it better for the autos???

blk/slvr02ss 11-21-2008 02:17 PM

Well ,yes but you can do more w/ a auto. The only difference is w/a auto is you can change your shift points. But for the money i rather have it dyno tuned.

my buddy's 01 ss m6 with no mods at all, i mean this car is bone stock right down to the air filter put down 329rwhp at the shootout then went home and dynoed it at 311rwhp in pembroke, nh, he went to the track oct 31 and ran a 13.7 at 101 bone stock from factory.

my car dynoed at 346rwhp at the shootout with all the mods in my sig, forgot to mention i have the slp cme, and ran a 13.4 at 107

in gm high tech per. mag they did a shootout between all the top named hand held programers, this is the website to look at them http://www.gmhightechperformance.com..._in/index.html

hope this helps some

sorry to hear that. i broke my foot and ankle in a head on and after a year and a half its still tough sometimes. good luck.

V8Z28s 11-25-2008 08:36 AM

thanks

yea it helps a little thank you guys. I just wished it would produce the 345 hp to the ground. This car is still fast as hell though very easy to break the speed limit.

blk/slvr02ss 11-25-2008 08:50 AM

Thanks 01ssreda4,i actually got in my 02 SS and drove for the first time in 15 weeks w/ the t-tops off it felt good to be out of the house.
V8Z28s you have atleast 305-310 rwhp that's not bad for a stock car.

02 Camaro SS 11-25-2008 12:30 PM

Did you already buy the programmer? If not then you're definitely better off getting it tuned by a real shop. A few bolt ons would get you to 345 rwhp no problem.

TazmanSS 11-25-2008 08:48 PM

My 02 SS with 6 speed put down 322 rwhp on dyno.
