Exclamation disappointing Head/cam performance

I just dropped 8k in my car last week on ...

Ported stage 2.5 Heads/ Custom grind cam 232 / 236 @ 112 LSA, pushrods, timing set, ported oil pump, headers, lifters lifter trays, rocker arms, 36 lbs injectors, fuel pump kit, new water pump, 160 thermostat , belts, pulleys, full exhaust high flow cats, true duals, HP-tune on the street & NOT on a DYNO, and of corse LABOR.

Sad thing is that it feels like i lost low end torque and I did NOT feel a dramatic difference in the cars performance...or at least not until like 4500 rpm - 6500.

The Heads/cam were specked to "compliment" each other...

I set out to make 500+ R.W.H.P. What do I need to do in order to achieve my goal of 500+ rwhp and to unleash the potential of my car?

Has anyone else felt disappointed in the power their Heads/Cam combo produced?

Did you get it dyno tuned, did you put it on a dyno to see WHAT it's making to the wheels, did you run it at the track yet? Alot of that info would help lol. And from what I hear, 4.10 gears help a shitload, 3.73s if your a a4

IT was Street tuned NOT dyno tuned. The guy that did all my work said the "load" would be different on a dyno and prefers street tuning the cars. I dont have numbers yet. that will be another week or 2. I have not taken it to the track yet. I have a 99 Z28 M6.

1. That is not a 500rwhp set up. You should see 400-420rwhp. There are a few on here who can help you get there like Patrick G. Who spec'd the cam? You could have seen bigger #'s with a smaller cam & better heads. With less loss in low end and more midrange Tq as well.

2. You need gears (4.10's), especially with a big cam like that.

3. You will lose low end tq. The bigger the cam, the more you lose down low to gain up top.

4. Get it on the rollers and find out where you are at.

5. Underdrive pully will gain you 10+rwhp & rwtq. FAST 90 or 92 will help out on the peak #. You did not say what intake you are running?

the key to getting power on stock cube ls1s is high duration 24x/24x and high compression at least 11.5:1 the 112 lsa is fine but you will definately need more duration. and im an m6 and 4.10s are the ****!!! another thing is getting heads that flow good between .200 and .500 because the ls1/ls6 intake doesnt flow that well above 265cfm ported fast 92/92 is definately the way to go. if you look up patrick g's thread "the key to 500 rwhp with heads and cam" itll tell you everything you need to know
