hi ls1 tech guys,

how much 5-30 oil does a 02 ss camaro take ?

Technically its 5.5 qts with standard filter change. Most including myself just dump in all 6 qts. 5.5 just doesn't seem to get it right up to the top.
6 won't hurt it.

5.5 qts. I would not do 6qts. Too much oil can cause damage & will rob performance.

Each one is different. Check your dipstick. Do what you will.

I use a K&N #2006 truck oil filter and then it takes 6 qts. I would not overfill.
