I found a 2002 SS with 69k miles and the guy is only asking $12,000
What do you guys think?
I'm driving a 2005 Mustang GT with 28k miles but I need to gtfo of that thing
The only thing I don't like is that it's a hard top..
Would it be worth it to pay a body shop for a professional t-top swap?

Run the VIN number. It's worth to check up on it. I have seen a 2002 WS6 I wanted to buy, and after I ran the VIN it showed up as being stolen once and being in 2 accidents, although still holding a clean title. I asked the guy why the seats are cloth when it said it was leather equipped. He made up some excuses and I just never bothered to go check it out.

I would say right around $10K is a good number.
Thats a lot of engine mods, make sure he has the receipts to back up all he says it has.

with the hard top... less flex and noise on highway. don't get me wrong i LOVE my t-top cars all 3 of them, but never have to worry about flexing chassis... esp if using a tunnel mt tq arm. i've noticed the flex difference in my body since and i have 3 pt UMI sfc... keep it hard top or find a cheap t top. don't cut this one up. since find with price and mods!

Thanks for all the feedback guys! I really appreciate it. I guess I'll have to suck it up and accept the loss of t-tops for some structural rigidity.
I'll run the VIN forsure, I didn't really think about that, but you make a strong point.
I've only had my Mustang for six months and I absolutely despise that thing, it was just more affordable at the time -__-
I've always been a bowtie man, but when you're driving a 240SX and shopping for a new car, the sound and feel of any V8 is enough to make you swoon

I say have a mechanic check it out and then go for it.
