Default 3.4 to 3.8 swap in a 94 Camao?

Not your typical swap and not sure if it would even be worth the hassle, but I have a lead on a complete newly rebuilt 3.8 out of a 96 Camaro. I was thinking of buying it to swap into my 94 Camaro commuter.

Does anyone know if the 5 speed tranny in my 94 will bolt up to the 3.8? The 3.8 will come complete with harness and pcm and such but um not sure what else would be required.

I know some will say don't waste your time and just do an LS swap, but this a commuter and I want to keep the decent gas mileage.

Different K-member. Engine bay harness (not engine harness). Different cooling lines, I dont think the tranny will bolt up if i remember correctly. There is quite a few differences.

Well that sucks. I might be better off just rebuilding the 3.4 then.

Yah. They can be had pretty cheap though. when I did my lt1 swap I sold the 3.4 complete engine and harness and tranny for 150 dollars. You might be able to find one cheap.

the 3.4 is week in the hp section but generally speaking they are very reliable engines.

Yeah the one I have now has 177k on it. Besides a little oil leak it runs good. I originally bought the car for my son when he turned 16, but he later somehow convinced me to trade him for my LT1 Z that was stored in my shop. So now now I use it for a kinda of as. DD or when I go to places I don't want to take my CTS-V.
