Default Stall Converter help 01'SS

01' ss, basic bolt ons. 38k miles

Looking at getting a stall in the next day or two. Few questions

1.) for a daily driver looking at 3200-3500 stall speed
will this be too aggressive?
will i notice the thing is in there? faster rev?

2.) install. resonable price to pay for a t/c install? ballpark it?
Ive done basic bolt ons and nitrous installs on other cars. never worked with transmissions etc. Might be beyond my skill level

Any thoughts input would be appreciated!!!!

Oh! also..anyone wanting to sell a t/c with a stall of 3200-3600 ..let me know

I can't answer your questions yet because I haven't installed one. But doing research did show me one issue that you may not have accounted for.

I've read the ECU needs to be tuned to account for a stall. That the 01 and 02 cars sometimes have issues when running a higher stall on a stock tune. I'm sure more experienced guys can chime in but just fyi from what I've been reading up on. Has something to do with torque management I think. Don't hold me to it but I believe that's what I read a few months ago.

1.) for a daily driver looking at 3200-3500 stall speed
will this be too aggressive? no
will i notice the thing is in there? yes faster rev?

2.) install. resonable price to pay for a t/c install? ballpark it? I would expect to pay 250-500 if I were to take it to a shop. Personal opinion.

Dont forget to get a good trans cooler and to keep your temps under control. Otherwise, have fun destroying tires.

I just installed a Circle D 3200-3500 HP series. Bolt-on 01 SS. No tuning needed (in my case anyway) Serious bump in performance. No trans cooler yet. I dont beat on it too often. I also installed their SFI flexplate and new Corvette servo. No issues so far. Great mod!

I'd go as big as you can stand, cause you'll only want more later if you don't.
