Default Ditch Or Replace 14yr Old Spare?

While upgrading & replacing the sound system with a new Kee Audio package I rediscovered the spare tire in the rear hatch of my 01 Z28. Never used it amazingly...hopefully I never have to. The tire was still holding air but it's 14 years old. Don't really feel comfortable putting it on due to its age should I need it.

What's the consensus on the spare? Should I just ditch the spare altogether? I have AAA & keep a portable compressor in the trunk. Should I just get a fix a flat canister? Should I try to find a replacement...doesn't look like a full size can fit. Are there new spares for 4th gen's being produced?

I'd personally just pull it out. Don't get rid of it (or the jack) entirely, though, as you might want to toss it back in should you take a road trip or something.

an 'old' spare for 'limping' home is better than no spare at all.

This.

You can spend a couple hundred for a new spare, but the one you have should be fine for getting you home. Just try not racing anyone
