Default Question about 4th gen LS1 alternator wire routing

Can anyone tell me how the factory routed the 4th gen Ls1 alternator power / charging wire to the battery?

The biggest question is how it was routed from the alternator, did it clamp from underneath between the front of the oil pan and behind the harmonic balancer? Or did it travel a different path?

The battery is on the passenger side on these cars aren't they?

Thanks in advance

The wiring went from the alternator to the drivers side (Fuse box area) and across attached to clips on the fans shroud. Then attaching to the battery on the passenger side.

awesome, thanks again. Right now the wire is coming off the lug for the starter (same one that battery is hooked too) and running tightly to the oil pan under the motor to the alternator.

I did a LS swap in my 71 and trying to duplicate how it would have been factory. I didn't get that harness and I'm **** about those little details lol

If you see the thicker wiring loom in the middle of the photo that is the harness with the power wire for the alternator and also connects to the fuse box on the drivers side of the car.

That's the fuse mounting location under the red plastic cover.

awesome, that's exactly what I needed to see. I have a 4th gen elec fan assembly in my 71 so the routing will be perfect.

Does that power wire for the alternator run through a fuse? Or just supplying power to the fusebox?

Thanks again for the help

If my memory serves correct the wiring for the alternator comes from the main wiring loom not from the actual fuse box. . I will double check that tonight when I get off work.

Yeah the alt wiring splits from the main look as I thought.
