Default My 1989 camaro build.

So I got my camaro on a trade for my old Cherokee. Always loved a nice third gen since I was little, so I thought why not sink some money into it and have some fun with it. It was a clean car with no rust (just rough around the edges) and electrical gremlins that weren't brought to my attention til after the trade. Wanted to do a low and fast big brakes and great at cornering kinda deal. So I sold my crotch rocket and that's where the money spiral starts.

Original plan was to do the suspension and brakes first then build a motor while I drove it for a little while. Went ahead and got spohn lower control arms, panhard bar, sway bars, wonderbar, subframe connectors, (gonna do a k-member soon) and koni yellows and ground control lowering springs. Then I also picked up some xxr 526 wheels and nitto invo tires. Pretty good start then the 305 that was in it decided it wasn't up to the task. So me and the old man pulled the motor and trans and its at the point it is at now..

Well a friend of the family had a complete 6.0 that I was able to ****** up so that's where it has all begun. So far we I got main studs, scat rods, weisco pistons, and ls3 heads and head studs. As of right now the plan for the motor is a carb and super vic. No idea as to what trans yet I keep changing my mind, either gonna be a th400 or a 6 speed. Looking for 450-550 hp at the rear (preferably 550).

But anyways I will try to get some pics loaded tonight of the build and keep this as updated as possible. Thanks fellas and any comments are appreciated.

Oh you ment for him to load pics up, my bad. I was just messin w yah anyways, thats why I put a smiley And thanks, I'm partial to my "old school" 93-97 Camaros, but I would still like an LS one, one of these days. I'm working on building mine up to smoke some LS cars while still running the opti distributor just to see the look on their face. Most fast LT1's seem to be converted to coil packs.

I can't decide on that part for some reason, I think it will end up being close to the same price either way. A built auto or a t56 with a good clutch. I don't know yet but I will need to know soon. (Still waiting on my pictures to post or a message from admin or something) but on a side note. I finally have my pistons and ls3 heads in my possession. So it's off to the machine shop next week!
