Throw an SLP lid on it and an ls6 intake if you're feeling frisky, best bang for your buck will likely be long tube headers and a tune.

Nitrous is always the cheapest and easiest way to add power. You have to do a lot of work and or spend a lot of money to get 150HP any other way. It can be completely safe if tuned well, but you will have to refill bottles, so not the best for always having more power in a street car.

A race from time to time, you can't do better than nitrous. Instant low end power that gets you off the line.

More power to play with on the street that will always be there is going to be bolt on parts.

A tune and gears will wake up an ls1 on the cheap.

agreed, unless it's an M6 car then I don't generally recommend dumping money into the 10-bolt.

I search for used parts on here and craigslist, then sell off what I don't use. By the time I had wheels, tires, a Yank 3500 stall, 3.73s and a full exhaust I only had about $900 in my car.

The classifieds here are a treasure trove of good deals. Check the general parts section as well as your regional classifieds.
