What Happened to the Late Great 01-02 SS?

Like I said the only things I did not like about the great late model 4th Gen Camaro (01-02 SS) were the seats and low HP (350). The seats were horrible! Other than that I believe the 02 SS was one of the best engineered Camaros ever built. I know many hard core Camaro Lovers hated the Catfish looking front end .... Again it is hard to understand the zero following this Camaro has today when you consider the 90s and early 2000s Mustang following is going strong today. Does not matter to me when Chevy dumped the Camaro after 2002. The 02 SS should have a huge following today but it doesn't.

I no doubt enjoy my 4th gen...
I was looking at new 2015 1LE's but just couldn't justify spending $33-35k on a car that was going to sit the majority of ea. year and only be driven less than 5k mi/yr.
...that being said I bought my '00 last yr as a clean/unmolested, low mileage example. 4th gen cars are that I've wanted since middle school. My dad bought his new in 2002. So not only a good buy IMO, but also have long desired them.

Lol, some of you young bucks make me feel a little on the old side or a lot wiser and more experienced. I was a freshman in college when the famous blue/white 1981 Z28 came out. By the early 90s, I was all about the C4 ZR1 and Viper. By the time the 01-02 SS came out I was almost semi-retired. I guess one of the good things (and not so good things) when on cyberspace forums is you have no idea of people's ages.
I guess the hobby brings in all ages of people (not a bad thing).

If there is one thing on one can predict it is the future collectible cars. There are just too many variables to predict what will get hot. For example, the ZR1 Corvette. How can those things not still be "king of the hill"?
If I had room I would put away a low mileage red 405HP right now. Or Black. One day people will have to realize what that car did in it's time. Maybe.

I do not believe these vehicles will ever make it to the collector car market, however with so few on the road, they are noticeable.
69 yrs. young over here, and still going strong

I have full coverage on Sara (2001 Z28) with $500 deductible on Collision & Comprehensive (I do not have rent a car coverage). I have been insured with a major carrier for 40 years and my rate is $292 a year (driving no more than 3k a year).

I'll guess carrier, location and how many miles a year you report. I'm only 33 and my wife and I have my 2000 SS, her 2006 Nissan Sentra and our 2015 Dodge Durango SXT through AAA, full coverage with $500 deductible rental car etc etc and we have our home owners insurance through AAA also so we get the discount for everything and I still pay $285 a month lol

I too have both my house and another vehicle insured with them, giving me multi line discounts.

I use Grundy, but I agree about how affordable this option is if you meet the requirements. I only pay $600/year for both my '71 and '98, $0 deductible, with agreed values of something like $26k and $36k respectively (those limits have been going up by 2-4% every year for all the years I've had this policy as part of their "inflation guard". It hasn't impacted my rates much, I only pay about $100/year more for both than I did ~10 years ago.) No mileage restrictions.
The '98 costs me more than the '71, even though it's insured for less, because it's not in the 25-years-or-older category. The '98 car works out to something like $30/month.

I would like to clarify one important point here about my insurance rates:
First and foremost, I have been with this major insurer for 44 straight years, with no chargeable tickets or accidents, my point?
Over 44 years, I have paid these a$$hole$ enough money to put all their children through college, AND keep them all in bit*he$ and Cocaine for the rest of their lives.
JMHO
