Default 98 V6 Camaro

I found a low mileage 85k 98 Camaro but from sitting it has some rust underneath. Runs and drives nice but I know the 98s had metal gas tanks. Kinda makes me a little uneasy that the tank might has rust issues but its almost impossible to tell. Anyone out there with 98s v6 or v8 have any experience with this?

I would just get the plastic gas tank. It isn't that hard to swap out. You just need some jack stands and some basic tools to do it. Is rust where you live something you have to deal with? I'd simply avoid buying a rusty car if I were you. It might even be worth it to buy a car from a place like TX and have it shipped to where you are. Car shipping will run about $600 or so cross country. That's probably cheaper than rust repair that may not last.

Thanks but I bought it. I scanned it and fuel trims looked perfect, I'd think if there were rust in the fuel lines the fuel trims would be way out of whack.
