Had my 2000 Z28 on the dyno at Straightline Performance yesterday
I took my 2000 Z28 to Straightline Performance yesterday for a baseline dyno run. The car is stock except for a Corsa Catback and a Whisper Lid. It made 276 RWHP and 294 TQ on there Mustang Dyno.
How do you guys think the car did?
I also have a 2016 Z06 but want to keep the Z28 as a drag race car. I'd like to get closer to the Z06 HP wise. What do you guys think the first mods should be?

My 2000 SS made 310 rwhp, on a dyno jet, bone stock down the the paper filter. Dyno numbers aren't everything, but have you performed a full tune up?
Car looks to be in really nice shape!

I just did trick flow heads, Brian tooley cam and components, arh long tubes, ls6 intake, circle D billet 3600 convertor and a tune and made 423rwhp on a mustang dyno at JTM in Long Island. If that helps

Simply too far to go and too costly in my view. I ended up with an LS2 402 in my 98 and it had a touch over 500 rwhp and torque, but at that it became a bear to drive on the street. It also had well over 20,000 in mods on it at that point. It now is a track car (road race) with a friend and I drive my quiet, easy riding 16 Z06 when I want an adrenaline rush. You should just enjoy the new Z06 and let this car go.
Sell yours and look around and you will find somebody that has done what you are planning and you will be able to buy their car for pennies on the dollar. I sold my car for $10,000 with all sorts of spares after dropping that $20,000 ++ on it.
As an aside I do wonder about the health of your motor. My 98 was delivered on a Saturday in Sept of 97 and on Sunday, I ran an autox, stopped off at Sacramento Dragway for 4 quick passes on stopped at a DynoJet on the way home and pulled 314.6 rwhp and a bit more than that on the Tq side.
The Friday before Lou Gigliotti had gotten his 98 Camaro LS1 delivered and it pulled over 305 rwhp that same day. Those were the first 2 dyno runs on the new at the time LS1 in the FBody. All this with a rating of 305 flywheel HP. The 97-98 Corvettes had been pulling 270-290 rwhp, but the FBods were stronger for some reason.
Edit: OP has just bought a new Z06 which is where the C7Z references come from.

It pulled 316rwhp on a dynojet when I bought it in 2000. This dyno was a mustang dyno which typically reads a little lower than a dynojet. The owner of the shop also said the hp was where it should be for a stock LS1. I also have oil analysis run when I change the oil and there has never been anything out of the ordinary.
I'm going to keep the car. It was my first new car and I've had it since 2000. It has 13k miles on it. I started with suspension mods years ago and also had an Incon twin turbo kit for it. After Incon went out of business I sold the kit and the car went on the back burner for awhile. Now I have the Z06 but want to keep it mostly stock. After driving the Z06 the Z28 is feeling a little boring and needs some mods!

I had it at the track, but the weather wasn't the greatest and the driver wasn't either. I trapped 102mph.

I need to bleed the 17yr old clutch fluid and try it again on a cooler day. Hopefully in the next few weeks.
