(SmokingAsphalt) Shark Gray 2000 SS build I'll edit this first post to keep up with the current status of the car. *12-3-2020: New best 1/4 mile: 10.95, 1.78 60' @ 131 MPH, removed the stock style shocks/struts, will be replacing with coil overs. *10-23-2022: New best 1/4 mile: 10.75, 1.64 60' @ 132 MPH, single adj coil overs up front, 4 way shocks rear, 80lbs heavier. *2-5-2023: New best 1/4 mile: 10.73, 1.67 60' @132 MPH, same suspension as previous LS3 block- 4.070" bore Manley 4340 Forged Steel 4.100" Crank SCAT 6.125" I-Beam rods Manley 2618 Forged -7cc flat top pistions GM oil pump Ported (by myself) 821 heads Stock GM replacement valves (hollow intake) BTR dual platinum springs .660" lift with steel retainers Johnson reduced travel race lifters 2116LSR TSP Cam 243/255 .621/.619 111 LSA TSP 2"primary to 3.5" collector long tube headers Meziere 300 Series Electric water pump T-ROD MOD LS3 intake manifold (done by myself) 92 MM TB Siemen Deka 80lb injectors, LS3 fuel rail 1/4 mile best: 10.95, 1.78 60' @ 131 MPH 1-19-2018 *Just an update guys, last week of Dec 17 I spun piston rod bearing #3 while doing a burnout at the drag strip. Since then I've dropped the engine out of the car and completely disassembled the block. I parted out and sold pretty much the complete engine. What's going on guys? This will be the build thread for my 2000 Camaro SS M6. I'll add more information as I go, pretty much I'll be working on this on my lunch breaks. I purchased the car in November of 2016. Shortly after buying the car, I put it on the dyno at a local shop's winter dyno day. After going to the track and making some passes, I decided to clean up under the hood. There was still some areas behind the bumper cover that showed to be NBM. So I stripped the fenders off and decided to do some weight reduction along with the wire tuck mod. Made an aluminum bracket to keep the bumper cover solid. It's about a 50 minute drive to the closest drag strip. The car was a lot of fun with the basic bolt ons. After owning the car for about 4 months and going to the track 3 times I was ready to start adding power. The Dorman LS2 intake was released so I decided to give it a try. At first, I just planned to swap the intake manifold and get a dyno tune but decided to take the next step and go HCI. I've had great experience with Texas Speed in the past and always wanted to try the MS3 camshaft. Yes, I went to the track multiple times with the HCI setup and ran low 12's at 119-120 mph. Had a couple of 12.0s but never got into the 11's. 60' times aren't consistent yet. |

Not really sure on my power, but our builds look very similar. Mine without me in it is 3650 lbs with a full tank of gas and full nitrous nitrous. The iron block adds a good 100 lbs so that's not helping lol. So what are your next rounds of mods? |
