Hey. In that first picture it looks like your shelf is not quite level. Your car on the other hand is turning out picture perfect. When you finish it we should all meet up at the Bucky’s on I-10. Well, maybe in September, it’s about to be 100 degrees for the next 3 months.

And yeah that would be awesome to meet up. It's gonna be a little while as the next few purchases are quite big...rear end, drive shaft, clutch, transmission, wheels/tires, plus get it tuned and broke in .

Just screwing around with you. I saw that level there.
I completely understand what it takes to get all these parts together. The wheels that I went with a very wide in the back. 19x12 with 325’s. I am thinking about doing a mini tub kit and running some 335’s. Strange built my Dana rear and driveshaft. Real happy with that. I went with the McLeod RTS clutch kit. Dual disc clutches are very expensive. I ended up selling my LS1 engine so I could get the T56 Magnum F. When you go all in like this things get to be a big commitment. What you are doing is what Chevrolet should have done in the first place.
I just saw an auction for the most expensive F Body of all time. It was the Dick Harrel 2002 SS. 427 all the way back in the day. It had a window sticker of $118,000. It sold for $150,000. That’s what it would cost you if Chevrolet was building your car for you.

I sold the 6 speed out of my car to fund buying the close ratio magnum-f when the time comes. I've also sold the aluminum drive shaft and BMR lowering springs. The ls1 out of the car I'm trading to my father-in-law in place of paying for the machining bill on my new engine.

Man you couldn't have said it better. The SS Camaro's should have no less than a 427 ci under the hood. I remember pulling up to a 7-11 back in the late 80's in my 77 LT Camaro, 305 2bl and a 79 Z28 came loping up and parked. I asked what he had under the hood and of course it was BBC 427 backed by a muncie 4spd and I was The 455 was another popular engine for the late 70's Trans-Am.

Yes, the number 427 just seems perfect. My friend is building a 1975 Hurst Olds right now with a 455. Here is a trivia question?
Do you know why the best engines from the Big 3 where the engines with: 421,425,426,427,428,429? It’s because the FIM, Federation for International Motorsports, had a 7.0L displacement limit. The 454,455”s, and 460 never competed in NASCAR or international racing.
This is why I knew the LS7 swap was perfect for the F Body. I even carried that over with my other project. Now, back to this awesome SS build.

Parts
The rear coil-overs came in Saturday. I went with the 130 lb. spring double adjustable QA1's. I got them roughly put together and as I did with the fronts, absolutely love their products.
Summit Racing supplied them and as always it was quick and plenty of tracking updates. I've now received 3 of their cool hats. I've been wondering what the free T-shirt spending amount must be if I'm only reaching hat level

Will_00SS,
Great updates. Thank you for your patronage! We appreciate that you've chosen us to purchase parts for this build! From time to time we do send out free hats and or stickers with orders. We don't tend to send out shirts because they aren't a one-size-fits-all like a hat.
With that being said we do sincerely appreciate your business. Check your PM's!

I got the gas tank removed. Next will be emptying it out, cleaning it up, and getting the stock fuel pump system removed.

I also got the BMR Coil-over conversion kit installed along with the QA1 rear double adjustable coil-overs. I still need to remove the stock fuel lines. The passenger side bump stop has one bolt that is starting to round so I wasn't able to remove it just yet but I will later. I was able to remove the driver side bump stop though.
Note to file, don't install the upper mounts before installing them on the coil-over first or you will have to go back and undo your work . It turned out great though, I also got my BMR subframe connectors in the mail but didn't have time to get them or the wheel ski's installed this weekend since we spent Saturday down in Corpus Christi at the beach.

Will, I'm looking forward to seeing how far you go with the car. Keep up the good work! Just purchased a triple gauge pillar for the 01 and I'm curious to see what you had to do to wire in your gauges.

I'm still working on how I'm going to do that. I got one of those step drill bits, drill holes in the stock pillar for wires to go through, then come down. I think there is a hole big enough for the connectors to pass through but got side tracked with the suspension stuff. I also think it is one of those " feed the wire back to the gauge first then plug them in" type installs rather than, wire up gauge then feed wires down. Wiring is not my favorite thing but I also hate messy wiring so it takes me a little while to plan it all out.

I power washed the fuel tank, removed the fuel sending unit, and drained all the gasoline out of it. Waiting on Squash Performance system to arrive so I can get started installing their kit.

I got the BMR subframe connectors installed on the car as well as the Innovative Racecraft wheelie skis. On the wheelie skis, it says to reuse the rear k-member bolt, but I could not get the washer off of the stock bolt (it was just slightly too big in diameter) so I ended up going to Home Depot and getting a 10.9 grade bolt and washer to replace it and it mounted up as it should. I need to remove the stock fuel lines next. I like the look of the red with the black. It's pretty cool seeing it all together.

- Fuel Pump(s)
- Dual in-tank Walbro 450 setup from Squash Performance. -8 AN supply, stock evap, and -6AN return. I got their plug and play hot wire kit and it will utilize the stock level switch.
- Plumbing
- -8 AN supply, stock evap, and -6AN return. All stock fuel lines/filters removed. Supply will have a Y that sends a dedicated line to each fuel rail. Then each rail will join back up at the regulator which will then consolidate down to the single return line back to the tank. All lines are PTFE style.
