Should I buy this 1st gen
An elderly family member has a very clean and solid 67 or 69 350 SS. The car has been stored since the seventies in a climate controlled garage. Its completely stock just the way it came off the show room floor. Its a triple white convertible. White int, white ext, white top. It has a console mounted auto. I can have the car for relatively cheap, under 10K. Is this a good buy or should I pass it up?

sounds like a damn good deal to me. 1969 is the more popular car, but they also made more 1969 models than 1967 models. Your choice, but I'd definately check it over well before deciding. If it is clean and only needing minor stuff, then I'd definately buy!

I've checked it over pretty well. My aunt and uncle bought it new off the showroom. I cant remember if it is a 67 or 69 though. It does have some very minor rust around the rear wheel wells. Other than that it is fairly rust free. I just didnt know if there was something special about it being a triple white convertible SS.

If you don't buy this tell me where it is and who to contact. A numbers matching (provided it is) 1st gen vert (even if it was a inline 6), especially if it IS an SS, is worth as much $$$ as your 99 and my 02 together. Heck, I'd take out a 2nd mortgage on my house to get this. Get the picture?
BTW: As you can see from my sig I'm also into 1st gens.

It is completely numbers matching. The interior looks amazing for being factory. I guess because it hasnt ever been in the sun. Her husband died and she put it away in the garage. She takes it out about once or twice a month just to warm it up and have it serviced. What attracted me was it was triple white. Everything on it is completely from the factory. Nothing has ever been replaced. I actually think it might still have the stock tires on it.lol Its like it came out of a time capsule.

That car is easily worth 2 to three times what you are about to pay for it. I bought my '69 for 8500 and when giving the man his money was offered 12000. Now 3000 later I had a man offer 18000. Oh and it's extremely modified and unoriginal. It was a 3 speed 200 horse 327, but now its a 4 speed speed 370 horse 327 ss clone. So buy, buy, buy, for god's sake buy!
