The last drive ......
Took my Camaro for it's last drive in unmolested ,stock form. Ran it through emissions , renewed the tags and drove it home .I'm on vacation so I'll be removing the 305 , 700R4 , stock suspension and the drum brake , non posi 10 bolt and all the steering . The upgrades will a be pretty extensive but that's another thread entirely. It's time to put the LS1 and the T56 in ! Woo hoo!

Don't feel too bad , this wasn't even a TPI car , it was a TBI car. Heck , a lot of V6 cars had more horsepower than this one did. Just for giggles , I'm leaving the RS badges on it and telling everyone the mod I did to it was installing one of those "Tornado" thingies.

I've got to Rant about the lowest form of vermin, the despicable wretch who upgrades a 6 cylinder car with a Y2K Corvette engine, and then drives around like there's nothing going on under the hood...until suddenly he strikes, roaring past in a frenzied blast of acceleration...
Oh wait,
El B, it's long past time you got something fast enough to keep up with Yvette

Good Luck. Your gonna love the change. I left on my RS badges and the stock wheels. I also have a quiet 3" edelbrock exhaust. It's fun when they don't know what hit them till your gone. long live the sleepers.

I did decide to leave the RS badges on it just for grins. I'm going to tell Mustang owners that I put one of those Tornado thingies in the 305 and that's why it is so fast. In reality ,it's probably going to be hard to hide. I did the Hawk's longtubes/y-pipe/cats and a Borla catback. Add in a healthy cam and they are going to know it's not stock under the hood.

I have the comp cam xr265hr high lift with 918 springs and push rods. I also have ported exhaust manifolds and TB. Very smooth idle just a tiny bit of lope. Makes 331 rwhp with a very restrictive TPI air cleaner set up. Vette doctors told me I might have another 20 hp with a better air cleaner set up. It's more than enough for me now. I over power the tires in a heart beat. I have thought about those headers. I would love to know how loud they are? again good luck.
Tom
P.S. I once blew away a 350Z. Then told him to keep away from the IROCs because they were the fast camaros

I would suggest ditching that TPI setup for a cold air intake like the GTO one from AEM , the TPI is really choking you down. Just use one for an '04 GTO , it fits great and will help a lot. A friend of mine has a '92 RS hardtop with the LS1/T56 swap and we've learned a great deal about what works well with this setup. He also is using the Hawk's longtubes , they fit great.Definitely worth the expenditure.

I got the AEM brute force It's a dry flow filter (no oil) part # 21-8016. Polished of course.
It has a heat shield that looks about useless for us. I will have to fab up a bracket to hold the end up. I do think it's about as close as we will get to bolt in for our needs LOL.
