value of a 1999 HOSS ( 1000 miles )
I have been looking for a 1999 HOSS and was contacted about a 1999 M6 that has been stored since new, still in dealer plastic since 1999. Has 1000 miles on it. What is the value of something like this? I was looking for a low mile non modded car and have seen them sell in the 15-19 range. Is the value much higher for this car? I offered 25 is that in the ball park? Owner is looking for quite a bit more.

25k would be more than fair for that year, color, and option'd car. I'm sure the guy thinks it's worth a ton more, but the car is only going to be worth what some schmuck is willing to pay.
Keep your eye out, there are unmolested HOSS' out there that you could get well below 25k.

Wow quite low miles and sounds like very well treated.
I'm not really sure what a HOSS is other then I guess a low make version of the camaro, can I get some more info on it please?
I know low run cars can gain vaule pretty quick esp with this hype of the 09.

I would say 25k is fair given that it is in excellent condition. If the guy wants any more for it, I'd walk away unless that's what you really want, and you don't plan on driving it much and driving it only a couple of times a year.
If all you want is a nice daily driver HOSS with under about 40k miles, then you're looking at almost half that price.

Thanks
Thanks for the honest replies. I am not looking for a museum piece, just a nice car I can be proud of. I'm thinking its a good thing they didn't jump at 25 as that seems to high as well. The sticker was 28 in 1999 and its not a like its a ZL1 or a Berger so I think I'll pass on the car. They are asking 38500 and said they wouldn't take less than 33,500.

damn. They want a brand new price for a 7 year old car. I would walk away from them. Hell you can get a 02 Z06 for less than what they want for that HOSS. Now the HOSS is a beautiful car but I wouldn't spend that much for a 7 year old F-body with no miles on it.

I wouldn't sell mine for under 20 grand which has 14,500 miles on the clock, ALWAYS garaged, NEVER out in the rain, snow or wet pavement. As if you ever saw my car and checked the undercarriage, you would clearly see this. And with white leather interior. She's babied.
That's IF I were going to sell it. it would be for either a '69 CHEVELLE/CAMARO PRO TOURING SS.
So, as for that dude asking 25 grand for a totally stored '99 HOSS with 1000 miles on the clock, I think that's worth the price FOR SURE!!!!!!

The 1K mile car is worth $25K to a collector. If someone paid that much with plans to drive the car, it would be worth about $15K the next year. Collectors like cars with less than 5K miles on them max. 1K miles is a good find for a collector.
But, you should be able to find several clean examples for $12-20K that are just as nice and can be driven without guilt.
I sold mine for $17,500 and it was almost perfect. Had several custom items on it, and 42K miles. I paid $13,500 for it when it was stock, and had 35K miles on it. But, I got a good deal on it, they were selling for $15K when I bought it.

Well, the problem is they are asking 38,500. I offered 25 and they said they wouldn't take less than 33,500. TONES2SS I'll give you 20 for yours. DEAL or NO DEAL? LOL. I have a 69 SS also if you want to do some horse trading.

I'm betting they keep the car for a looong time. The cars are rare, but aren't collector items yet. Maybe in 10 years. History has shown that color alone doesn't really bump the value of a car too much, it is more about special editions or cars with obscure options or larger engines. I can almost guarantee that a pristine black SS of the same year will bring the same resale as the orange one in 20 years. Black is just that popular.
