Default My LS1 story...

I went to a high end/custom car dealership looking for a corvette... they had a 1991 zr1 sitting on the lot, $18,900 60k miles. cherry.

i told them i had 15k cash, they said they might be able to finance the rest... so i went and looked at it, and the salesman came out and said 15k right now you buy it.

so i took it for a spin and came back said i'll take it... came back the next day with the money... the owner told me he wasn't going to honor the deal anymore cause he didnt want to lose the money kbb is 23k+ and he said "go ahead and get a lawyer"

then i saw a nice 01 SS on the internet with no price, i called that dealership and asked how much it was, he said 17,900 with 18k miles. i said i got 15k... he said sold come down and buy it... when i came down there some idiot manager without a clue comes out and says no no no the owner wants 30k for that car, it has a corvette motor i told him good luck getting 15k over kbb for it...

so we went back to the showroom and the head guy at the place came out and said no, they want 19k for it... so i said see ya... i checked this morning now they have it listed for 25k lol...

i went to another dealership that has a ton of vettes, camaros, firebirds, mustangs, etc...

and i bought a 01 z28 with every option except the SS package (which i really wanted but couldn't find for ~15k)

i really love it, the motor is great, torquey, top end power, great mileage. the car is nice inside and very comfy for me. the monsoon sound system sounds like **** though, so i think i'm going to get some new speakers.

I also don't like these wheels much, even though they are the premium wheels, might go with some black/gun metal wheels maybe some z06 wheels/ss wheels. i really like the ss wheels.

anyways, here are some pictures.

Nice clean car++

If you are looking for a great looking set of wheels you really can't go wrong with ZR-1s, I don't really give a crap if everyone has them.

My 98SS has it's stock ZR-1s but I'm thinking of giving those to my dad and getting a set of ebay ZR-1s with the 11inch wide dished rear wheels, I think they would look even better.

Yep. Common or not I could care less, the ZR1s are by far my favorite wheels for a 4th gen Camaro. My next choice would be C5 ZO6 wheels.

Sucks about the two dealerships that didn't honor their deals. I had a similar experience when looking for my TA. Saw it online, called them. They said come on down, so I drive about 30-40mins and find out they don't even have the car... but they did have this broken Camaro that they said they would fix (yeah, right) before I pick it up if I was to buy it. Anyways, congrats on your car, don't see many verts.

Not a bad idea. Mine are black on black except for the red small chevy bowtie under the tail light which looks cool I think. You can click on my signature picture to see it larger. I assume they are b/b from the factory for 2002. I met a girl from on LS1 tech that had pink Z28 badges on her black 98 Z Vert. Probably not to hard to pop them off and get painted. I'd have to be careful and find the right way to get them off without breaking them.

Or you could leave them on there, and people won't ask what kind of car it is. I've had quite a few people ask what kind of car it is. One was an elderly man around 80ish at a gas station. "what kind of car is THAT"? "Camaro Z28", "wowww"

Very nice, **** those crooked dealerships! I don' t mine the red badges, but I probably wouldn' t go for them. I wouldn' t mind the black badges, with the lines through it painted red, but that' s a PITA. Besides, I have the Z06 style badges, so I' m set. Lose the front plate, but change the grill too.

Mmmm droptop black Z28....very sharp looking car. I think it'd look even better without the red badges and front plate holder...but it's your car! Congrats man!!
