Thoroughly disappointed this ended up being an auto only class. The only rule I cared about transfering over from Coyote Stock is the one rule they completely omitted...

I though about this very hard over the weekend after talking with Jamie Meyer Saturday night. After heavy consideration I will not be competing in this class if manual transmissions aren't added to the rules. I hate to be that way. But I can't spend $30K+ building a car that doesn't put a smile on my face. A 10 second auto car will not do that.

Yeah, me too. It would have taken me about 3 years to have the cash to get everything ready, but the no manual puts me out too. I'd rather take my ball and go play over at Coyote Stock.

Gene can you update us on what the response to the class has been outside of the folks that posted here? From the posts here, it does not look good but is there some positive response that can be shared?

Yeah, Edgar...........POSITIVELY nobody has seen a DR525 in real life as of yet. Lots of people were POSITIVELY pissed about no manual transmissions. POSITIVELY nobody has their car ready yet. We POSITIVELY do not have finalized rules yet either. I POSITIVELY have a car in pieces all over the shop.

How's that?

If we could, going forward lets either support the class or hold off on negative comments. I don't see the value in rehashing the trans controversy.

I've heard that 6-7 engines are ordered, maybe more. I can ask folks if I can share their names, I know some of them.

Don't get me wrong on this, John. I fully support the class and am looking forward to running in the class. Hell, I proposed it to Jamie Meyer two years ago. Transmission deal is pretty much dead now anyway. Those that wanted manuals have moved on and all that remains are those who are looking for engines. I have also heard of six engines being ordered but not from where or when they are expected. If you have any info on this I'd be very interested in hearing about it.

John or others, can someone do a read of the program now that the guys are receiving the ECM kit. Want to see what rev limit is in it. Heard 6600 then 7000. Gear and converter selection will vary.

Chevrolet Performance website shows the rev limit of the engine at 6600 (actually the connecting rods).
