Default LSX in 51 GMC comlpeted

I just wanted to toot my horn a little & say thanks, I joined this LS1tech forum when I started my project. Thanks to alot of you folks for answering newbie questions, & help with parts to complete the swap, I finished my project (51 GMC rodstoration) just in time for a trip to the Good guys Midwest Nationals show in Kansas City last September & ended up getting a photo shoot with Grant Peterson of "Classic Trucks". Well I just seen the latest copy (Dec. issue) & see that the ol GMC is in it! Check it out, some of you guys helped! Thanks again.

Congrats on getting in the mag Larry. But you really should've posted a pic from the feature instead of the contents page, because everybody on here is going to want to see under the hood!

A little more info. pertaining to the conversion. To keep a stock look I epoxied a repo throttle pedal to the fly by wire throttle pedal assy. Then utilized the 51 factory (rebuilt) water temp gage & located the capilary bulb at the pass. side head after reaming & tapping the head for a standard SAE adaptor.

To keep the stock ammeter gage look, I mounted a volt meter in the gage cluster, then glued the face of the ammeter to the new gage. The needle is a little different, but not very noticable.

The front clip is a 84 Grand Prix "G body" clip. After bolting on a new set of rubber motor mount perches to the cross member, I fabbed the custom motor mounts in order to place the motor just where I needed it to clear the fire wall & fender support rods. Manifolds are 98 camaro. Electronics are under the seat.
