Default Pics of G-body LS1 swap

I thought I would post up some pics and info of my LS1 malibu swap. The tranny isn't in, so the oil pan looks closer than what will be, but I snapped a few shots of the pan clearence and fire wall. The engine is a 5.7 LS1 with a stock F-body (camaro/firebird) oil pan. I bought the 1" set back engine mount plates from The Car Shop inc. which worked out great. And the engine mounts are stock v-8 SBC mounts. I haven't bought headers to check clearence issues, but I've heard pacesetter long tubes work out okay.

Yea, I have a fewpics of the car, none that are full car, but I'll dig up a few.
The rear fram is not perfect, has a few spots in the normal areas, but not bad at all. I think maybe 2-3 places the size of a dolar bill. Could be patched up no problem.

The doors are on it now, but I don't have any good pics of it yet. I'll try and get a few some day.

I def. will. When I first started gathering info on gen III swaps in g-bodys, I never could get a straight answer about what type of oil pan with what type of engine mounts, so once now that I know what works, I thought I'd post it up so anyone else going the same route would know as well.

first post says he used the LS1 F-body oil pan and car shop inc. motor mounts....

sometimes depending on the brand of motor mounts, Ive seen g-body swaps use the CTS-V oil pan, because it provides better clearance between the cross-member. Or some people will notch the cross member to get better clearance....

couple questions for you:
1. what intake are you going to run(fuel injected or carb)?
2. how or were did you order a harness to adapt to the cars electrical.

thanks

When using the 1 inch setback mounts, will the truck manifold clear the firewall?

uou will need to notch the heater/AC box and/or move the rear coil in the passenger side if setting back the engine... but that sure beats notching the x-member or oilpan
