Default 4L60e shift linkage

How do I adapt my original floor shift linkage to the 4L60e? Is there a cable out there that will work? (1st Gen Fbody)

it depends on what trans you had in the car. are you putting this trans in a chevy, ford, dodge? if its a gm trans that the cable origanally was hooked up to then you can just use the bracket that bolted to the old trand and bolt it to the 4l60e. the shaft sticking out is the same (as long as its a car 4l60e). and that will work, you just wont be able to shift manually into your lower gears. like if it was a powerglide then park, reverse and nutral as well as drive and low you will get (low on the poweerglide) but you wont be able to downshift into 2nd or first on the 4l60e unloess you buy a detent kit for your stock shifter. wich again depends on what your starting with, and without that info who knows if there is a detent kit for your stock shifter.

Shiftworks.com has the exact kit for that swap, you will be able to keep the stock cable once you change the detent. I bought one for my 200-4r swap.
