Default Mechanical speedo on a 700r

Searched but did not find an answer.

Installed a 700r/ls1 in an old truck. 700r Tailshaft has drivers side elec. speedo output screwed onto a male threaded stub- which appears to be same for hooking up a mechanical speedo. The center of the male stub has the square center of a plastic gear meshing with the tranny gear inside.

Anyone know if you can run a mechanical speedo off of this fitting of an 700r?

Thanks for the assistance.

You should be able to but you'll have to put the correct gears in to get it to read right.
