Default What is the value of a 98 LS1, S&P Harness, and 4L60E?

I recently purchased an 84 Vette w a 98 LS1, 4L60-E, and S&P harness.

I already removed the 4L60-E as I intend to go T56. I also already have an L92 that was intended for another project. So now I'm wondering if I should just pull the LS1 and S&P harness and sell all of it as a kit. Then buy another harness for the L92 and drop it in.

I would sell it complete minus accessory drive, I need that for the new engine.

So it would be a complete stock LS1, Coils, intake, TB, F-body pan, water pump, 4L60-E, S&P Harness, ECU. I even have shorty headers that came on it or could substitute F-body stock manifolds (from my Z28) to complete the package.

Question is, what is that worth?

It seems like it would be a great start for someone else doing a swap.

Would I be better off even leaving the acc drive, so it is more complete, then buying the same set up again for the new engine?

Would I be better off selling it piece by piece?

I'm looking for words of wisdom from the experienced out there.

I'd also like to hear from anyone interested in it, to save me a for sale thread later.

Thanks

These 98 LS1/4L60E setups typically sell for around $2000 with the factory harness and accessories. Maybe a little more if low mileage, up to $2500. 98's are less popular and they sell for less than later years in my experience.

If I were looking I would probably steer clear without the accessories. It can cost quite a lot of time and money to track them down.

Check on ebay, prices there are usually top of the market.

So, you are thinking $2000?

I was hoping the aftermarket harness would make it more desirable.

I was hoping for $2000 LS1/ECU/S&P Harness.
or $2500 w trans.

Any one else have input?

you'd have better luck selling the components separately, i.e. harness, front accessories, tranny, motor...as dhutton said the 98 LS1's are a little less desireable and usually go for a little less than the 99-00 or 01-02 motors...good luck

I just picked up a 98 LS1 4L60E oem harness computer fans radiator for $2500.00

Ebay seemed to be 2000 to 2500 plus freight.

If you want to sell the S&P harness let me know.

I think the S&P harness counters the lack of accessories to some extent but replacing those accessories can really add up. The other issue is that the mileage is unknown. Most that you buy on ebay state the mileage on the car they were pulled from.

True.

I was thinking a lot of swappers piece together an acc drive anyway to fit their platform.

Still just kicking around the idea. The auto is going, no use for it. However I may run the current LS1 a while and go to the L92 later or not. If I cannot sell the LS1 and harness for enough to get a new harness and related parts for my L92 it probably isn't such a good idea. I was just thinking it would save me $ in the long run if I eventually want the bigger HP.

Just thinking out loud in text and looking for input before actually selling anything.

Thanks guys.
