Default T56 swap into a '70 Chevelle

I havent had any luck searching for this so im gonna post up. My friend just bought a '70 Chevelle to do a LSx/T56 swap to. What all is needed to put the T56 in such as pedals, mounts, etc? Does anyone make a 'kit' that can be bought to do this?

Also, is there anyway to do a cable setup instead of a hydraulic one?

There hasn't been any kit out yet for a Cable Linkage System.

You will also need to cut the transmission tunnel quite a bit to fit the T56.

Thanks for the replys. I think he has decided to do a 4L80 swap now instead of the T56.

If you check the top of the section, you can check the A-Body swap threads for the FAQ/sticky.

It has been done and isn't that hard to swap it in. If you want to keep the Z-Bar setup.. you will need a new Bell housing.. McLeod is a good choice, if your keeping the Gen III/IV setup with Hyd Master/slave, it also has been done.

good luck if you change your mind.
