All you should have to do is open up the front two holes on the 4.6 mounts a little, and then extend the rear part of the mount about 2-3 inches. I've used this same setup on all of my swaps.

When we did the 99GT we used F body motor mounts on the block and then cut off the 4.6 mounts. When we remade them they were like 1 1/2" lower than the 4.6 pads. G

like this

The 5.3 bolt pattern is different than the 5.7(nothing to extend to). I bot the 4.6 cobra mounts because I had seen them used, before I picked up my engine.

jfg455 seems to have the better solution for custom motor mounts.

jfg455 if you have anymore pics, especially firewall and tranny pics it would be appreciated. Was your build an automatic.

The 4.6 cobra motor mounts are not the best option for the 5.3 block, they work better with the 5.7 aluminum block.

The 4.6 mounts place the engine to close to the firewall and the 4l60e to high in the trans tunnel. I would not waste any time on them fab your own like jfg455. I wasted a couple days trying to make the 4.6 motor mounts work.

I used the 4.6 w/ the cast block. Theres always a way If you still plan on attaching the 4.6 mount to that block let me know I'll get you a picture of how i did it or draw something out. It also moves the engine forward giving you more clearance the way I did it.
