I hurt something in the trans Sunday but I had a camera mounted in the car so I thought you guys might want to hear what a stock headed L92 (some milling) sounds and looks like from my point of view.

Also this run was my first perfect reaction time. .0000 I also coasted to a 10.98@74mph

lol the trans is coming out tomorrow and that is exactly what I expect to see.
What can I do to prevent this again? The rest of the trans was built to handle 3 times what I'm putting down.

well what i found out "after" i broke mine was that since i was using a LS with th350 i needed to put some aluminum round stock spacers in between the flexplate and converter. i ended up with 0.275" spacers so i wouldnt bottom out the converter in the pump might not be your problem but wen i watched your video clip it was very familiar to me from 2 weeks ago shifted in to 2nd and went like 2 seconds then VROOM revved to the moon i ended up getting about 15 passes out of the truck with the converter out like that before it sheared the pump off hopefully this helps your problem if that isnt it just post back im curious to see if we had the same problem

I'll let you know what I find out in the next couple days. I did get 51 runs off this setup. I bought the flywheel, TC and Trans all from Coan all at the same time ready for my LS motor so I figured it was all set. My rep at Coan is very interested in what happened as he said there is no way I should have broke that trans at my power level. I think he will be very easy to work with on this.

This build must have taken a while....I remember Billy doing the engine when I was at W2W 2 1/2 years ago!

Yep your correct. The car the engine was supposed to go in changed and it seemingly took forever. It was all worth it though!

So far we took the trans out and could not get the converter off. Something bad happened in there somewhere. I bought the entire setup from Coan and I over built it and they are sure I could not hurt it with my measly 600hp. Coan has been more than supportive and had me box it up as I have the original box and pallet still and they scheduled a fed-ex pick already today. They told me not to attempt to remove the converter with any force and leave it for them to look at. I have had a great experience so far with there support.

We should have some answers soon.

Just a little 0-140mph in car camera footage before I broke trans.

Trans did break pump tabs and will be fixed and shipped back out to me no later than Tuesday. The support from Coan so far is awesome. I'll be racing this weekend.

Well I just got done with the frost bite nationals at Milan. The Vega just kept going faster and faster. I wasn't just popping wheelies, I was doing a little riding too and kept working my 60's down to 1.310

Saturday I ran a 9.48@141.05 then they changed box class to run only 1/8 mile. I ended up running a 5.99@115 in the eight on Sunday as my best run and was running 6 flat all day. Wish I would have got to get a 1/4 run Sunday as it probably would have been faster than my 9.48

This is one of my new favorite threads!

I've always thought the LS Vega idea was cool. But the violent racing video is beyond words!

I had the volume kinda high for the 1st one, and I got a little holy s#!+ feeling via you tube video. Must have been crazy live!

Keep posting the vids! They are awesome!

Just curious Are you still working on your projects ? I know you shelved the Buick for the Vette, any updates. Your cars were the first that i seen when i became a member, right after i was practically given an Lq9.

No to hijack, nut thanks for the interest kj598bbc! Sadly, life has gotten in the way. I still have both projects but no real progress other than parts collecting.

I am enthused about getting the Vette done though. Especially as so many waxers from the Corvette forums hate the idea.

When I get back to work on it I'll be sure to do up a thread.
