Just went through this whole thread and I have a few questions,

-How is the coating holding up on the BRP headers after you've had them for X amount of years?
-What mounts did you end up using for the motor?
-I see that you used a aftermarket front accessories bracket, is it just the kwik Alt. bracket? And you do not have a/c but if you did, with where you have the motor, would it fit in the stock lower left hand side without modding the frame?

I just recently got a l92/4l80e thats going into my 85 MCSS and I'm retaining A/C and trying to keep the truck accessories so I do not have to spend 800 bucks for the vette front end.

And lastly, any chance you are going to OCMD for Cruise weekend next month?

Hey Justin,
Unfortunately don't get much time to take off from work. I will be heading down to Virginia in couple weeks to meet up with my Tuner.

The mounts are BRP swap mounts, friend of mine just did his with Frame solid mounts and bolt on Small Block plates and it looks pretty good. My swap was featured in Super Chevy magazine.

The best thing i ever did was use the Corvette Kit for the front access. Alternator has plenty of room and if you use the AC i think its tight enough to the block to fit.

I bought the current set-up from a guy on the corvette forum that was building his car to race and got everything i needed for 300 bucks, bolts, brackets, pumps, alternator, and belt.

BRP Headers look like brand new even after 2 blown motors.

Ralph

P>S> This set-up was suppose to go into my 1984 SS Monte got 32,000 miles on it which my parents refused to let me do it, it was my grandfather's car.

I agree. The Vette accessories work great on A-bodies too.

We got the tranny back into the car and been running it until we could get it to my buddy to tune it.

So yesterday left 4:30 am to Maryland and met up with my tuner for about 4-5 hrs of street driving and 2 dyno passes. Car Made 422 RWP 397 FT LB and is running so much better with good stret manners.

Thanks to Ed Hutchinson for the great Tune.

Next is Track Rental on Nov 16th to see if we can get it in the 10's.

Well we got to the track! It was COLD! DA was awesome.

Right off the trailer we knocked out 11.29 @ 117 with 1.57 60'

Then i got some wheel hop adjusted couple things made a short pass it felt ok, then lined up for another pass and it shook my brains out and broke sprag in the trans.

Looks like we won't get back to the track before christmas, as with as busy as work is with the Huuricane Sandy Clean Up we barely have time to sleep.

Hoping to have the trans out this week and maybe back in right after Christmas, then maybe march or april we will hit the track.

Since you already have the Boost reference fuel reg...you can always skip the 10's and jump into the 9's with a $600 turbo...just sayin.....great job on everything...

Well we got the trans back today. Tore up both sprags from the wheel hop.

Now we know when you install anti-roll bar you must reset your adjustable to the stiffer setting.

Hopefully drop it back in before the end of the weekend.

Back on the road.

What are you referring to when you stated
"when you install anti-roll bar you must reset your adjustable to the stiffer setting."
The shocks?

Very nice build and performing car btw!

Well we went back to the track, got the suspension dialed back in with correct Shock settings and tire pressure.
Results are
Pass 1 = 11.27 @ 119 MPH
Pass 2 = 11.22 @ 119 MPH
Pass 3 = 11.23 @ 119 MPH

All with 1.56/1.57 60 ft Times

I will post the video tonight. We are Going back next week to see if the DA is better. The DA at the track was 500 ft above sea level, generally we are 1500 below sea level.

This car could have 11.1-11.0 in it.

Nice job Ralph, when that 60' drops you will hit the 10s! Is it maybe the converter that is holding you back? My car made 408rwhp through an unlocked 4k stall with the same rear end combo, and it 60's 1.50. Not sure if I have a freak car because it only has tubular uppers boxed lowers, an ARB and summit racing shocks lol.

I really hope you can crack the 10s, because then that means I will be on the front door as well

Their is something holding us back and i would not put it pass that TCI Converter one second. Of course i don't got the dough to put out for a Yank or Precision so guess we will make due for now.

We are going back on April 5th and maybe get 11.1 or 11.0 ---- the air was horrible for March. Unless its summertime the DA is generally very friendly to atco. plus 500 ft above sea level is bad.

We will see, real soon.

What is the final compression ratio with the ls6 heads and 6.0?

Curious, have you calculated MPG?
