I swapped an LS into my jeep and I'm wondering where on the motor I can hook my vac brake booster to?

It's just the standard 6.0. That's an LQ4 right? I can't remember. It looks like there's a plug. It's hard to tell if it's a plug or if there's a hole. The motor is in and pretty close to the firewall. I didn't pull the motor. It was out already when I bought it and I didn't notice that spot on the back of the intake. If there was a ruby that came out of there it was gone when I got it.

Ok you said LS, LQ4's use hydro boost so there is no fitting on the back of the intake. You need to pull the red plug out and install a fitting from a intake on a vacuum brake assist vehicle, i.e. 4.8/5.3/LQ9.

On the LQ4 the brake vacuum port is on the back, but it may just be a plug in your case. If your motor was set up to have hydroboost brakes you would have a plug there. The correct adapter that you would need should be available from GM.

I had the same problem as you. The pn for the vacuum fitting you are looking for is 12559760 from your local GM dealer. I also found this thread when I was using the search feature ->https://ls1tech.com/forums/conversio...cuum-port.html

This is what you don't want to do when removing the fitting.

You're going to need to know how to remove the plug so you can put the correct adapter/nipple in it. Pull out on the black plug while pushing in on the red retainer part, and the plug will come right out, and the new one will just push in. Some people have found this out the HARD way! Just my $0.02

Yea, I ruined my manifold trying to remove one, while talking to LS1Nova71. Go figure.

I figured it all out just AFTER i ruined the old plug and left part of it stuck in the manifold.

Yes, I had a plug in mine. I tried pulling, but not hard enough to brake something. Then I went to the local salvage yard and found a motor with the vac line still on it. It took me about 10 seconds to figure out how to take it out(just the way you said to do it). I did the same thing to the plug when I got back to my garage, and then just slipped the new one in.
Thanks for the help on this! Last night I didn't know where to look for a place to hook up. Today it's done. I like it!
