As far as the exhaust manifolds, are you staying w/ the factory ones, or did you get aftermarket headers? I need to find headers and Im having no luck finding them. I would appreciate if you could tell me what part numbers you ran and who you got them from. thank you in advance.
Everything has been trial fit, and I did notch the frame for clearance of the A/C lines. I boxed that part of the frame back in so there's no weakining of the frame there. As for manifolds, I'm using F body LS1 manifolds, and just had to slightly clearance the frame on the right side, but I welded a part back on the frame, so it looks like the frame has just been bent upward. When it's painted I think it will look almost factory. I'll post some pics this weekend after the frame is painted.

Elbow grease, lot's and lot's of elbow grease! Oh and a wire brush, and lacquer thinner, and I took alot of parts off and took them to the carwash, sprayed them down real good with Castrol Super Clean, then pressure washed it off.

That 3rd picture over, is that your harness? Did you get it that way, or did you take it completely apart? If you're just trying to change from DBW to cable, there's only a few wires that need to be changed. I think if I were you, I would just look for a DBC harness that is together, and modify from it there.

ls1nova71, your post came in a lil too late. im at the point now where i need to extend TPS, IAC, and Cranksensor. the ends where the pcm meets the connectors looks like a birds nest(i can sort that out with time). lost with fuse block. dont have 1 and where do i get 1? also what gets connected to it?. i also need to setup relay line and figure out the knock sensors. ill post pics later.

Haven't made alot of progress lately, but I did get the trans and engine back together and in the truck. And here's some pics of where I modified the frame for the F-body exhaust manifolds and the A/C compressor.

I'm kinda doing somethings backwards though, so that's why the A arms are not painted, after I get the engine in it, I'm going to tear the front suspension off and rebuild and paint it. I was originally just going to make a driver out of this truck, but I realized I've already made it too nice to drive in the snow and crap, so I decided to just go all out and make it as nice as I can, budget allowing.

I had to run new brake lines to the front calipers, had to go around my engine stands.

Then I cleaned up the trans and bolted it back to the engine.

Then put it all back in for the final time.

Your project looks great. I'm doing nearly the exact swap into a 71 Camaro. My project is a little rougher than yours though, so It will take a while.

I most likley will be going on the Power Tour, way too close to home not to!
But, I don't know what I'll be taking, the Truckster gets more attention and is probably more comfortable, that and the fact that the whole country is going to be reacquainted with the Griswold's and the Family Truckster on Super Bowl Sunday...

I'll make sure to introduce myself this year, I walked by your car last year and you looked annoyed, so I just kept to myself... haha.

man that makes me want to wrangle my grandpa's old '53 dodge pickup from my cousin (where it's just sitting, rotting away) and restore it w/ some modern muscle (i already did the bed and interior for him a few years ago - and i'll admit i'd lean toward a new hemi to keep it brand-specific). great work indeed. although not as cool as an x-body

Great Looking engine. The orange paint makes it look a bit retro, but you know it is an LS motor!! Nice job
