Default 1991 camaro ls1 swap, what headers

I am putting a ls1 in a 1991 camaro and want to go with headers while I am at it.... I know hawks sells headers, but will normal LS1 headers fit? I am gonna wind up using the texas speed true dual exhaust on it if they will work!

Would have been helpful to maybe TELL him what headers fit instead of just saying no they don't...

Or telling me why they wont fit, for instance, "they dont fit because the y pipe used for the third gen wont work with them because the headers come out at a different angle.."

in which case i wouldnt care because im using a true dual exhaust anyhow so it will all be custom, HOWEVER if it was something like "they dont work because the headers hit the steering" then thatd be a different story...

no the underside of a 3rd gen looks nothing like a 4th gen. the motor in a 4th gen is under the cowl whereas in a 3rd gen it's out in the open, etc.

if they fit both years then the manufacturers would sell them as such. Only people that sell them is hawks, or pay to have a custom set made up. I built my own for around $375

Yep - hard to believe that there's still only one mfr for headers for this swap...

Not kits - headers that you can just buy & install w/o needing to weld 'em together...

1 5/8 and 1 3/4 will support more than enuff hp for just about any street strip car, now if u need serious all out race perf. then a 1 7/8 or 2 would prolly be the best option, but even with 1 5/8 lts i made for my 3rd gen. the car put down 400rw and went low 11's on motor.
so the 1 5/8, 1 3/4 will the best bang for the buck generic lts for swaps. imo

ya i'm pretty sure i'll need the 1 7/8" header tubes but thanks for the tip I've never seen a motor not pick up HP when they're around where i'm at by going to bigger primaries.

1 5/8 shorties hurt my performance on my s10 when i built it, 1 3/4 primaries would have been nice at that time.

As for the hawks headers, they are $$$ but they are very nice headers. installed mine and i didnt have any issues with them.
