Default LS/4L60E in a '47 Chevrolet Business Coupe

Hey Everyone,

Just thought we would share some pics of one of the new shop builds. It is going to be displayed at the Back to the Fifties event in St. Paul as a rolling chassis. We will try to keep you updated.

Also, we are looking to put an engine together for it and wondered what you guys think we should do!!!

Thanks,

I think you should use a manual transmission

Either way it will be a fun car.

Well, there were a few reasons we are going with the auto. First, the car doesn't have a center console, so putting one in wouldn't look good. Second, the guy drives a manual all week long and doesn't feel like doing so on his cruiser. Third, we are show casing some of our latest products on this car and one happens to be the 4L60E wire harness.

So, back to the original question, what engine?

Thanks,

Here is a link to my 48, not a business cpe but is basically the same. I would go with 6.0L. Also ditch the truck intake and go with the edlebrock XP intake, as well you can make a nice hidden ramair setup, these motors sit extremely low and the intake would look killer, I will be going that way with mine probally in the fall. Right now I am trying to get things finished up and get any remaining bugs out of the car, yesterday it went to the uphostery shop to get the interior done. Took it out for the first time Thursday to do a little road test and ended up putting close to about 80 miles on it. Factory curb weight on these cars is 3200lbs. Something I found while in the process of my build was the Aluminum LS1 w/4L60E trans weighs 220lbs less than just the stock engine without trans.
