Default Which T56 do I need with my '01 LQ4 engine?

I thought all of the GM T56 transmissions were the same, other than the ECU connections and programing. During my search for a T56 I see where guys are selling their LT1 T56 trans. because they are changing over to an LS1. What am I missing here? I need some clarification because I plan on purchasing a T56 as soon to bolt to my '01 LQ4 6.0 truck engine.

You'll need one out of and LS1 to bolt up directly the input shaft and bell housing were different on the LT1's. Mine bolted right up to my LM7 it was from a '98 camaro.

I am still researching this subject. I see where a spacer plate if offered to compensate for the longer input shaft. The bell-housing and block bolt pattern is the same. I have a friend that has a TH400 bolted up to his LS1.

I see the difference now. The input shaft is substantially longer on the LS1 T56.

So, what do you need to use your LT t-56 on the LS motor swaps, or can you?

^^LS Front Plate and the LS Input Shaft. That will convert every LT1 T56 except the 1993.

Anyone? Trust me I'm taking notes! I want to swap in a 6.0l in the new future but don't want to buy another t-56.

I picked up a very low mileage '94 LT1 T56 trans. this weekend. This trans. was pulled from a total lose with less that 8,000 miles. A friend had it in storage and gave it to me. We were talking about my LQ4 6.0 project, '52 Chevy truck rat rod. I'm looking for a modular bellhousing so I can mate it to the LQ9. I will call Quick Time Monday to see if they offer this style of bellhousing. If not, I will be looking for a LS bellhousing, input shaft and mid plate.
